Success in Domain Name Dispute at International Forum

A domain name has been described as a human friendly form of an internet address which is easy to identify and to remember, such as www.corporateprofessionals.com. As a result of increased popularity and commercial use of the internet, domain names have, in the present scenario, acquired the role of business identifiers, and also serve as trademarks and brand marks. It has become a popular means of attracting customers to their business websites. With increasing disputes relating to brands and also those relating to domain names in turn, resolution of domain name disputes in accordance with the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) as approved by the The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers(ICANN) serves as a highly time- and cost- effective means, especially in an international context.

In a dispute relating to domain names, Corporate Professionals, Advisors & Advocates, recently advised and represented its client Surya Roshni Limited with respect to the domain name www.suryaroshni.com, being mala fidely used by an organisation in California, USA.

The firm is proud to share its achievement with you as it successfully obtained an order under the UDRP for the transfer of the domain name to its Client. The firm represented the matter on behalf of the Complainant, Surya Roshni Limited, to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Centre, situated at Geneva, Switzerland, which administers services relating to the resolution of domain name disputes in accordance with the UDRP as approved by the The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers(ICANN).

Pursuant to the arguments advanced and evidence submitted, the Centre has ordered that the domain name be transferred to the Complainant for the reason, amongst others, of it being registered in bad faith by the Respondent.
